Great Tapes for Kids was started by Margaret and Jordan Young in 1997 to provide a way for families to get high-quality videotapes and audio tapes for their kids. (We've since added CDs and DVDs.) We concentrate on story tapes rather than music.
We have two kids, and they love to test our tapes. Their friends and schoolmates have given us feedback, too, as have their parents. If you have feedback about any of our tapes, or other tapes that you think we should carry, please let us know!
This web site is also an experiment in database publishing. The individual pages for the tapes and books were originally created using Microsoft Access reports that were stored as web pages. We recently learned to programm in PHP, so now the pages use PHP to pull product information from a MySQL database.We create the home page for Great Tapes for Kids by hand using nothing more that Windows Notepad, UltraEdit-32, or DreamWeaver. The border of the pages and the lavender titles and buttons are created using Paint Shop Pro.
